Thats how I do it. Even with that said I still think the budget shouldn't be a hard limit. Be prepared to see something that you really want to do and just do it. Now that isn't to say you should go crazy. You still need to weigh the cost versus the experience you'll get from it. One of the things we would have like to do in Hawaii was a helicopter tour. However it would have cost too much for a brief moment of enjoyment. However we did do the 7 hour boat tour which is something I love to do. @aha – Definitely. Thats how I do it. This way you will fit into the whole budget and have some spare cash to spend on diving bus tours clubs etc... For both Hawaii and Europe we had budgets. However I don't believe you should be a slave to that budget. Ultimately you are traveling to enjoy yourself and that should be your primary concern.
